On our way to the great state of Idaho to the McSpadden family reunion. Okay so we really hate the drive to Boise, but we love what we see when we get there... FAMILY!! Each year different couples take turns planning the reunion and this year it was Darin's older brother Jim and his wife Carolee's turn. It's always the first weekend in August and they braved having the whole fam 0f about 38 stay at there house or Darin's sister's Sherrill and Mark's.
Going crazy after 6 hours!!! My kids are actually great travelers because we seem to do it a lot to visit family. The drive does get long though because Dad doesn't like to stop for just any old reason like hunger or thirst, someone has to say "I have to go really bad " ! Then he'll stop. :)
The first night we get there it's always a late one because we all stay up talking until about 3 or 4 in the morning and the kids play all night. Marlee and Ella I think crashed around 3 am!! Barbie's Barbie's Barbie's... The next day we hit the water park with all the kids. So much fun!
Marlee and Ella thought the pink tubes were fabulous to strike a pose with!

We have so many kids but all of them seem to have a little buddy to hang with. McKenzie and Kendra lead the young pack of girls. Cute pic of the two of them.

The boys club is never ending... We love the boys, so goofy and carefree! What good girls we have too, Brittany and Kylie usually have a close eye on them and they seem to not mind hangin with all the boys.

Always a competition in the McSpadden household, strating with the young ones...

To the teenagers (Brittany and Kylie)...

And ending with the McSpadden brothers (Darin, Brad, Jim and Mark)

They love to have a good time!!
And the girl's have a bit of fun too... Of course we had a few races of our own...

Thanks to Grandma, Sophie hung out in the shade colored, ate ice cream and played with play dough. She was pretty content all day with her little cast. I was so worried I wouldn't be able to bring her and then also keep up to watch my other kids, but Grandma helped out alot. THANKS!!

All the cousins layed on the tramp to watch movies outside and the boys would later go sleep in the tent every night. My boys loved it!!

I didn't get any pictures of the adventure we women decided to take the kids on... The tradition is always on Saturday morning the men golf 18 holes to see who gets to take the trophy home that year and the women do something with the kids. This year all the women decided we would go buy 4 man rafts and float the Boise river. We left Sophie and a few of the other little ones home with a babysitter and took off. Truxton and Marlee found their spots in the raft and relaxed the whole way. Well Dillon didn't know how much responsibility he was going to have as the front oarman down the rapids and over a few little waterfalls. The first small waterfall came and he looked at me with huge eyes and didn't say a word. I just told him to do exactly what I said, dig the oars down deep and we'd be fine. He learned quick and I was glad I grew up floating the Snake river with all my friends so I knew what to do. It was so rewarding to see Dillon relax and have fun as the fear in his eyes went away once he figured it out. It was so much fun!!! The river was a bit quicker than I'd expected and my sister-in law said she was praying for us the whole way. It was never boring! Not much time for pictures... We did it and I'd do it again in a heart beat with the same boat crew... Dillon, Truxton, Marlee and Mom!! What a great idea, Carolee.
If the table could talk... The men always keep us laughing!

We all had such a good time thanks to everyone who helped plan it and let us stay!!

Looks like it was a BLAST! Love the pics. at the water park and all the races! The trampoline picture brought back so many memories of when I was growing up and we would sleep out on the tramp in sleeping bags. So fun! Sounds like the river was fun-we did the Provo river this summer for the first time. Being with family is always the best!
That looks like you guys had a really good time. The golfing thing that you wrote about sounds EXACTLY like my family. We love golf in our family too. How is Sophie doing now?
Family reunions always seem like a lot of work and very exhausting but end up being lots of fun. You can tell your kids love to be with family.
you have been busy, busy, busy...but what's new huh? i am so behind on my blog...i need to get it caught up soon! our boys look so cute in the parade...what good kids!
